Man Gets Hit by Train

Sad, preventable...dogs were probably off the leash. What a shame.:( My dog is always leashed !

This video should keep everyone from getting within 15' of the tracks...DO NOT TRESPASS !!!...Fortuneately the man was NOT severely injured. He was extremely lucky ! Graphic Video "warning" : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aVE0RHsiYA I worked for the RR, and always stayed 20' away from moving equipment as a rule. As broken and dragging metal strapping bands, and broken handholds can snag you in a flash.

This reminds me of how dumb people can be, we have several level crossings that have alot of pedestrian traffic on our LRT (Subway system). One in particular was really bad The city put up gates and lights to block pedestrians for crossing when a train approaches but every year at least one person was killed when they climbed under the gates so they could catch the train or simply impatient.
The city finaly built an overpass and closed the station access from the road.
seen here.

Another location was bad because people would not wait for the crossing arms to go up after the train would pass and a second one would come from the other direction and hit them.
