Making sound

Could anybody tell me how to get a engine making a hissing noise like davidos C38s which stops after a certain speed is reached, because I want to add the safety valve sound that you here on a pig onto the Belpaire black C36 that NSWGR_46Class made

Look in the C38's config.txt file to see how its done, then copy.

It is possible that the sound effect is controlled by a script.

Just a thought, but could the safety valve sound you're hearing actually be the loco's safety valve popping off?

Also, there is a sound file that can be included in a steam enginesound that's named smoke_stack_hiss. Could that file be the source of the sound you're hearing?
