Nonsense. I've seen systems for far less than $500. Try http://www.tigerdirect.com/ I got an eMachines box for my son for $189. It's not optimal, but it works. A quick check showed numerous systems for under $500. Just check the Auran system requirements (and they do seem to be pretty accurate) first.
