Looking for track!

Now that 99% of the track is done on my route, I'd like to find a track that looks good for UK use, isn't super-heavy-poly, and performs well.

I've used one of the HP tracks to lay it all down, and now I'm looking to replace it.
Searching the DS for TS12 track is a waste of time, as the results are full of mostly the same assets with no descriptions, most of which aren't even track.
So I'm hoping one of you guys can point me in the direction of your favourites.

Maybe there's something built-in to TS12, I haven't had a really good look yet.

I also need it to have permission for re-skins, as I will need to make a few variants for the Tunnels I'm currently modelling.

I'll keep looking, but as usual, any help appreciated.

Brian.

Thanks guys.

The bullhead rails look great, and I've just discovered they're built-in to TS12.
I've also found a few tracks called VRail, which are detailed concrete sleeper tracks, one of which is also built-in.

The problem with the VRail one is that the creator has no info about reskinning in the licence, hasn't posted in over 18 months, and has something to do with Payware, which I want to steer clear of.
I will need to re-skin any track I use for use with my new tunnels, so I'll have to leave the VRail one alone.

So, I'll definitely be using the bullhead rails, which look great, but I'd also still like to find a concrete sleeper track, suitable for UK, to use too.

Cheers,
Brian.

Look up the tracks by NexusDJ, he has a huge selection of sleeper types and combinations of third/fourth rail etc. including tunnel variations and weathered/rusty versions. He also has reskinned versions of the UKBullhead track that match his flat-bottomed track.

Thanks mate.
I've just downloaded a selection of Nexus' tracks.

Now to play around with all the tracks suggested in this thread.
I'll probably use most of them throughout the route.

Thanks for the advice guys.
Appreciate it.

Brian,

I'm glad you found your track! It's like finding the right thing to watch on cable-TV with 187 channels available, but you still can't seem to find what to watch. :)

What you might find useful, if you haven't used it already, is turn on Show KUIDs in Surveyor. (Under the options for Surveyor I think...). This will display the asset KIUD of course and will give you a color depending upon whether the asset is installed from the DLS, modified (or third-party), built-in, or your own.

If you are concerned about something being built-in or payware, the KUID will appear as yellow in Surveyor. You can't tell if it's payware or not, just that it's N3V supplied if this helps.

John

Yeah, glad I've found a few tracks I like.
Makes all the difference.

And you're right about TV.
Hundreds of satellite channels, and it's mostly repeats or very cheap programming.

I'd forgotten about that KUID trick in Surveyor.
I'll enable that in my next building session.
Cheers.
