Don't think the South African scene really took off in Trainz, shame as there's some potentially good routes and rolling stock.
A search for SA on the DLS might yield more, though probably just bring up a load of SA as in South Australia stuff.
If as per your timeline all you have is TRS2006, then that's a really ancient version and anything added for a later version isn't going to work.
