Hi there, I've had a look through the forums and so far havn't found much on Narrow gauge engines buildings etc

Can anyone help? I am new to trainz, I found a few things for Narrow gauge but in the content manager I can't find NG stations or engines, i've seen a few videos on youtube that are running NG engines that are from north wales that run the ffestinog - porthmadog line, and I did see that line somewhere aswell, anything NG please can someone direct me to it :)

Thanks

UK stuff here:

Not sure about stations but on my 2ft route my stations are made using the AJS station template without attaching the platforms to the template, bring the platforms closer and lower them (make sure you set the AJS properties by clicking on the ? in the object menu, any changes to the properties of the template are only saved in the session).

Hope this helps

Andy :)

Check on download station type in either 3'6 or NG there are quite alot of different tracks and locos most of QR rolling stock are NG to start with

Worth searching the DLS for the gauge you're looking for in as many ways as you can e.g. 2ft, 24in, NG2, NG24, 2', 24", 600mm, 610mm. I know it's a pain, but you'll turn a lot more up that way. There is a lot of narrow gauge stuff around, so it might help us if you know what gauge and part of the world you're most interested in. And I'll add a link while I'm here...

Hello foxofhall,

As you are a newbie to Trainz, then you are probably unaware that there are loads of narrowguage stuff available both on the DLS, and primarily on 3rd party websites. We have many veteran narrow-guagers within the community from around the world, narrowguage ( Peter Pardoe-Matthews ) from New Zealand, probably being our oldest and wisest member, and others like Prowler, Pencil42, tbryson, and steamdrivre a.k.a. the grindre all from America (he is closing his website down shortly - so try here and get your freebie stuff quick before it goes down http://www.geocities.com/thegrindre/ ), Gor from Spain - have a look at his screenshots on the European screenshot thread, Darkdan from Belgium - he has a couple of excellent winter layouts on the DLS, a couple of guys from Germany, Mstnoodle from Australia, who's the other Aussie is it Zec?, Yojimbo from Denmark and Patricia's website in Switzerland can offer you narrow guage stuff from the land of ice and snow, AndreaLuigi in Italy, Linda in Norway - cannot remember her nickname now is it Steamdriver :o...... There's also, as already mentioned, the Murchison Logging layouts and the very famous Darjeeling Himalayan Railroad with lots of assets on the DLS by Dave Drake - search for username dmdrake on kuid 33404, so there's a wide variety from around the globe, you just need to do lots of research, and can ask any questions on here, as many Trainzers may help you finding the answers.....

Ah thanks very much, I've had a look through some of the links given so thank you all :)

Just one other thing, I made a coal mine put NG track thru it, and just wondering if NG rolling stock would pick up the coal like the standard gauge trucks? I've tried it with a talyllyn model but it didn't work.

trainzone/sirgibby's is indeed where the lions share of my own less then 36" gauge stuff came from. there is quit a bit of three foot stuff on the dls though, and there are a bunch of other places that have at least some.

(nut that i am, and not overly loyal to any one part of the planet more then another, i freely mix ffestiniog, srrl, and dhr stock on my two foot gauge, and on my 30"/760mm: pbr (from trainzone) and obb (from dls and elsewhere, i especially like those austrian 760mm mu's), and even on 36, wcr and cdr (irish narrow guage, especially railcar 18 and 3) with american three footers, including that dean forestry big diesel, the wp&y shovel nose ge's, and freight and passenger stock from all over.)

for stations i especially like the wiscassette and that csd little stop point, neither of which are passenger enabled though. there are a number of trolly stops that are though, and those automatically adjust to track type joind to them and ARE passenger enabled, and the platform hight works find for narrow gauge, though 'the gap' is perhapse a bit wide.

plenty of loco facilities exist in all gauges, on dls and elsewhere, and many industries have automatic track matching (there's a line that can be added to the config of things that don't to make them)

The bottom two 36" (3ft) mining cars on this page are interactive & work; - http://trainzone.co.nz/mining.htm

Ah thanks :) I was playing around with the script veichles yesterday, and got the Ffestiniog slate trucks to pick up coal, even if they are a bit... airey xD, but either way is there a way to increase the load because the max load for them was 1 coal, and I could see a way to increase it.

Thanks again for the help and tips :)

I'm not sure, but I expect there's a way to change the setting from 1 unit (as by default the slate wagon will pick up 1 2-ton slateload) to 2 tonnes in a similar manner to how Multiple Industry New works.

You didn't mention what version you have. If it is TRS2006 or TS2009 then the Northbay County narrow gauge route uses interactive coal (36") and ore cars (24") which are built in. If the gauges don't suit just swap the bogies. That route also has interactive coal and ore dumps and mines.

Peter

TS2009 I have, I did figure a way to get the talyllyn slate trucks to pick up coal, but I found some Ffestiniog coal trucks, unfortunatly they aren't for industry use so they won't pick up anything :(

Would anyone know how to modify them so they do?
