Looking for a Prototype equilvalent [Warning, image intentsive!!]

Hey all, I've recently been trying to locate information on a specific steam locomotive. Problem is that what I'm trying to look for is a full-scale prototype of this HO Scale version I have:

I have looked at several PRR photos (their logo is some-what blurred on the cab), but I haven't found any with that 3rd dome on the boiler (at least that was visible from the photo's perspective). I would guess it's an A4 or A5 at first glance, but I don't know if the model manufacturer had taken any creative liberties when this model was produced.

If anyone could provide a classification number, or possible loco builder (or even better, actual reference photos) I'd be much obliged.

It bears a very good likeness to a Ba 552

Ah yes, that little 0-4-0. That loco has been a favourite for HO scale manufacturers for decades, often being included as the motive power in train set packs. I'm not sure what actual prototype it is though (as my knowledge of US prototype is limited).

I own a similar model made by Lima many years ago and they just listed it as 'Steam tender loco for heavy shunting' in their old catalogues. There probably is an actual prototype it was based on, but will take a bit of searching to find it - there is a clue on my Lima model however in the form of a 'builder's plate' molded into the side of the smokebox which clearly says 'ALCO, 1938' so that might be a place to start.

I'm sorry that this is all I know though.

well actually this type of locomotive was built during the 1880's through the 1930's and it was pretty common during World War 1 for the shipyards. but i think it would be hard to find the correct prototype since most of those models are generically made. but let me say that there is such thing, i just don't no who could of had some besides the NYC and PRR. i believe the Chicago and Pacific had a couple.
