Thought I'd add another station to my 'route'.
The working title for this city at the moment is
'St. Augustine'...
Next on the line to the North is this also as yet unnamed station. Here the North/South line shares a station with one of the Metro's East/West lines, with the latter occupying the outsides of the two island platforms.
The station was originally in a wide brick cutting with a glass canopy from when the line was originally built in the early 20th century, however modern development of the area and the building of a major road has resulted in all but the Southern end of the platforms being covered over, giving the station quite an ugly, concrete jungle feel.
Originally the East/West line terminated here, with sidings in the cutting to the South of the station, however in the late 80s/early 90s the line was extended further Westwards and the sidings were replaced by a flyover, where the Northbound side of the line crosses under the North/South line and approaches up a steep gradient to platform 1.
Beyond here the lower track takes a sharp turn Westwards.
At the same time, the building of the new city sports stadium next to the line meant the Southbound track from platform 4 was entirely covered over to make way for car parks, the Southbound track also makes a sharp westwards curve and descends a steep gradient to match the Northbound track.
North of the platforms there are two crossovers between the North/South lines and the East/West Lines after which they continue a few blocks Northwards in a 4 track tunnel towards the next station.
