Locomotive sound...

I have uploaded a video to youtube. First one for me. I little shakey bit ok.
I don't live here. Would love to. I have seen and heard about 2 dozen trains here.
Now for the question. Why does the loco sound the way it does. It does not sound like any of the others I have seen so far.
I was also louder than any of the others. The video does this no justice.

I was thinking the same, maybe more like a turbocharger because it sounds like something is grinding its self away into bits and pieces...

Good god, not sure if it's the EMD or the GE. If it's the GE, most likely the turbocharger, it's it's the EMD it's either the turbocharger or a bad exhaust fan motor. I've heard the sound before, just not that loud. Strange...
