Limits of object splines etc.

What are the limits of objects etc. in Trainz 12?

I ask this as I have been finding on my route I'm working on, if I add scenery, buildings or even tracks, it starts to get unstable I have been lucky, that I have backups regularly. I have also gone a little made with tree's I made a grove of tree's that I liked and just went burko pasting it all over the place to make my forests.

For some unknown reason some of the tree's are below the ground level and every time I edit my route. I have been going wire frame and removing huge numbers of underground tree's, this has a twofold effect FPS is preserved, and I'm lowering the numbers of vertices and objects etc.

Thats why I think I must approaching the visible sealing limit. I'm sure its way higher then I have, for a complete routes as not all is visible all of time.. but as I have my details set to max everything. 5 ks is about the size of my route, so if I wait until everything is loaded I can see the end of my route from the very start.

TS12 has a built-in limiter which will automatically cut the draw distance and at least in theory seek to balance the load and the machine, so you shouldn't be 'getting unstable', you should simply get a reduced draw distance.

the 'content limit' for a route will vary from machine to machine, one of the goals of successful route building is to strike the balance between scenic splendour and performance reliability - not always easy!

One thing in you post, if I read you right you have trees below ground level?

I did have..

I just made group of trees when I was starting out on my first route.. this one I'm doing now.. IO have learned so much from and even restarted once from scratch. so I just made this group of tree's and when I did for some reason during the copy process some seemed to show up under ground not sure why but I have today spent a few hours. removing all the tree's then got smart and made another group of tree's checked for under ground tree's. then copy paste them into place replacing the group textures and the tree's in the process. very happy with the result. I have no under ground tree's and I have prolly half as many tree's and it looks so much better.

I also found doing it this way reduced the number of tree's by about 6 K LOL
