I know this may sound silly, but is there an image size limit when exchanging images with someone in PM? If so, whats the maximum file size, height and width? Or is there no limit?

depends on how you do it.
if you just provide the link to the image; no there isn't a size. If you embed the image ( using ) then there may be.

My images are 800 pixels in height and 500 pixels in width (I think, I'll have to check). Is this too big?

try that it'll answer your question. as for the tags there is a character lmit; so in a way yes. but it depends on what else is in your sig.
for instance; you can have more images that are
