Guys,

I use TRS12, and I want to make it that when a train arrives at a certain point in the tracks, the helicopter from my heliport takes off automatically, without myself having to click drive. I mean it just takes off seamlessly. Is it possible, and if it is, can I learn how? I'm also kinda new to this...

I appreciate your reply,
Nick

Triggers are your friends. Place a trigger on the rails where the train will arrive. Have the helicopter listen for the trigger and start its scheduled commands when the trigger is reached. For a bit of realism, put a wait command so the helicopter doesn't leave as soon as the train arrives. Give the passengers time to walk to the helicopter unless you're modeling a rude pilot. :hehe:

Hello Nick, welcome aboard.
Could you please register your copy of Trainz so we know what you have and that your legit, ta. ;)

Thanks! 1 question, how do I CORRESPOND the trigger to the helicopter (what is the name of the trigger which consist I'm referring to). I will register my TS soon.

Thanks!

That will have to be set in the chopper's session instructions. That is, the chopper's instructions will have something like, "wait for Trigger-- when consist "X" reaches the trigger, Chopper "A" will drive via "whatever".

Hope this helps,

Dave

You might already know this but as a newcomer you might be confused by what has been said before so to start right from the beginning the following might be of help.

While in the session editor click on "session edit" then "driver commands". Scroll down to the command "wait for trigger" and click on it so that the box is ticked. Then you will find there is an additional command "wait for trigger" which can be used under driver setup or as a command ingame for your drivers. Clicking on this in game or in the driver setup will bring up some options that you use to trigger for example your helicopter starting its list of commands.
