all is lost 12 months of work, even had problem with re-install source file corrupted, cant find path. until previous install had been deleted. hoped tgat my cdp file would have loaded ok, but no. it was there but some splines where just circles and 2 dotted lines between. so now its all gone and its a blank canvas. gee i love this game

Hard luck with that one, might sound daft but did you patch to the build you were on before -ie 44088. Then import your content.
The circles and dotted lines are either track or fences etc that you need to download again but I expect you know that.
You might use CM to find what deps/kuids your missing for the route and get them that way.

I wouldn't delete the CDP. It may still contain your route/sessions. Fran's answer makes a lot of sense; keep on debugging.

He's making a list, checking it twice

I just got a call from Murphy, of "Murphy's Law" fame. He said to tell everybody that he's coming to visit anyone who hasn't backed up his Trainz folder in 12 months. He might even make a few stops for people who haven't backed up in two months.

Hindsight, the thing no one has

The only vague attempt I make is to save my downloaded CDP's and zip files to a separate drive.
Sean, was it you who zipped me a route last year, Euro 06 or similar, i've still got the CDP's .

The coffee is hot and the beers are cold. Murphy is very welcome.

G'day, Goeden dag

had a visit from him last month, but I folled him, everything is backed up, twice.

BTW, where do the pitjes in your cheese com from.:hehe:

Have a good one,

It constantly amazes me how some members of the Trainz community will work on a project for months and even years without backing it up.

I’ve been using a backup software called Genie Timeline Manager. It works in the background as you work, continuously backing up files that you have chosen.

It uses a timeline slider, so that you can go back to a previous date and restore an uncorrupted or lost file. It has saved me a lot of grief on numerous occasions.

They offer a free 30 day trial period. Give it a try.

Yes that was me, but that route did get some major addons. just wondering as well when the kickout occured, I would get the nividia properties menu pop up. maybe I had exceeded the capacity of the card to run the game.?????

Just wondered whether it was the same route you've lost ?
If it was the card it would slow the FPS not crash it.

I usually back up once a week to cdp once a week, but have done alot of downloading from 3rd party sites like trainzup. maybe caught a bug. will look at your genie timeline manager. thanks.

G'day Fran1,

"adhesion is a must"

Are you advertising some kind of glue?:hehe:

Have a good onw,
E.C.

It's called sticks like sh-t to a blanket (they do have it here), never knew you needed glue for that.
You've got some between your w+e keys. Adhesive or the other, have a delve to get it out.

G'day,

Nah, pre-digested coffee spils all over the keyboard:hehe:.
And the keyboard overlay is getting worn out, just have white aquares instead of letters.

Have a good one,
E.C.
