Less buildings/Tracks on Trainz10

Dont know if its me, but i have used Trainz 2006 and there is always plenty of buildings to use like school 1942, different terraced houses, and tunnels and loads of tracks to use.

yesterday i download trainz 10 and there is hardly any tunnels, all i can see is one, and there isnt so many houses to choose from compare with 2006!

is this me or is there generally less on trainz 10????

Welcome to the forums.

When you start Trainz, uncheck the gold star, which would sow only favorites. There is a lot of built-in content in 10 that's doesn't show.

Also please register your Trainz versions so we can better help you.

There is generally less on trainz 10, at the moment. There are significant changes between 2006 and 2010, and a significant amount of content that works in 2006 does not work on 2010. There is an active effort to update content, and I would expect that most items will be updated. However, there may be items that do not get updated. Depending upon what's wrong with the model, it may take a significant effort. I would expect that much of the content that used to be available on the DLS for 2006 will eventually be available for later versions. One thing that might help is to list specifically what items you are looking to have updated.

Just to expand on what John has said about favorite content, there are two places in Trainz where you can opt to display only "favorite" content. One is in the Routes menu where there is a Gold star at the top left of the routes list, the other is in the "Main Menu" under "Options" "Surveyor Options" - uncheck the "Display only favorite content" checkbox.

You are not the first person to fall for this "Trainz Trap" !

Now when we come down to the issue of the vast amount of content available on the Download Station (using Content Manager) then........

These statements are just plain wrong. All earlier content will work if you select to run TS2010 in "Compatibility Mode" (but you may get performance issues in this mode). Well over 80% of older content will run in TS2010 "Native" mode without any problems, however assets built to newer standards tend to be better performing. As mjolnir says there is an effort to update older items to the modern standards so they will work in Native mode.

Don't forget the surveyor settings in Main menu, Options;

For some reason not much of the built in content is shown in surveyor by default, since when you first install TS2010 the "Show only favorites in surveyor" is checked ON. We never did figure out whose "favorites" those are. :hehe:
