Layout Bashing or how to get more enjoyment out of Trianz Model Railroad....

And one last update...this was an eyesore for me from day one....I like the strip mall concept but it had an absolutely bare parking lot, if you own TMR17 you know exactly what I mean...no cars,
no parking spaces, nada...as seen below:

:) Thanks for the byline on everything, excellent planning and staging!

Was wondering where do find all that interesting Construction Equipment you use?

 I just went back and looked at some of Sign placements, Iowa Gas, McDonald's inside a large building which is common in some downtown areas, I have to go back several times and re look at the areas to see what I missed.

Your talent definitely keeps the walk through traffic here busy to see what has been changed.

Keep up the great work, it sure will benefit others when they not sure what can be done to spruce up dull area.

"Was wondering where do find all that interesting Construction Equipment you use?"

Blue,
Look up "Loader Volvo L180C" and "Truck Volvo A25D" on DLS and do a search on DLS for "cat" you should find a decent amount of heavy equipment that way.

Thanks Railhead,

I check it out later today. I've got lots of construction sites that could use these fine pieces of equipment.

Blue,

Have not received any errors.....make sure after you change the colors and are done you use the "submit edits" button....Also on ballast cars. I did not change anything regarding the numbering system but after it was cloned I have to manually insert the number after I place the model on the layout. And it also good to rename the asset in its config file and save it then submit edit so as not to confuse it with the original version. I made 2 different color schemes on the Amtrak Ballast car by doing the above without any issues.

Manual Numbering did the trick.

Thank you Sir, with your help,

I got it working, I had saved and renamed it, but the Number as you said needs to be done manually and it also needs to be above or below the Range of the ARN car number range, as you said it confuses it and causes the ARN database error, and the other thing I noticed, the cars would not connect to other consists either, now it all works perfectly, and I have some off, weathered colors. Makes a good eye mix more realistic with contrast of different colors. :D

I need to read up on ARN system, I know very little about it.

Have a great night!

Well its been a little while since we last visited Paradise Diner, "Best burgers this side of the tracks", ironically the only burgers this side of the tracks as well......anyway as you can see I did some
remodeling. Added a new sidewalk that seems to fit better, a new bench, and some neon signs, they finally got a liquor license and now have Coors on ice....

I came across some sets of emergency lights and decided to add them, like the effects they have.

Police, fire and the ambulance each have a different set now.

A night run by Center City showing the new Neon signs I added.....I apologize for the quality but night shots on the "lite" version of the recording software tend to come out like that, But the Neon looks best at nigt.

Note: You can see the video on YouTube and enlarge it to get a better view of the signs.

@ railhead000,

Hi, I can see from your pictures that you do take some trouble with your track laying. Too many downloadable routes have below par track laying and it takes a long, long, time to try to correct the tracks. It seems as though more creators have their main interest in scenery rather than than track laying.

Just my two cents worth.

Cheers,

Well it may be 2 cents but it should be directed at the route creator.....I had nothing to do with the initial route...it came with TMR17....I have just basically super detailed it. Unfortunately since it is considered "payware" the tracks can't be modified or else I would have replaced them with more realistic looking tracks and cement ties..............oh well, first came art then came the critic.....lol

With that being said I still consider the Brazemore Yard layout one of the best packaged layouts/routes to come out. The track plan offers so many possibilities for different types of RR , I really have to commend the designer, Very well thought out and executed. I just wanted to add more details, as far as the track plan design, why mess with a "Classic" ????

Well, as much as you have modified so well to this point, it probably wouldn't be much of a jump for you to create an entirely new route based on the Brazemore Yard layout!

I been suggested to me a couple of times, but I really enjoy the detailing aspect of Trainz more then laying track.....but who knows I might someday create a complete route. But now I'm busy trying to complete this version and may be helping some others detailing their routes...........so much to do so little time :D

Go back to posting those awesome pictures of your additions to the routes, they are just superb. If you ever go and create a route i'm sure it will be one of the best... LOL
