Layout Bashing or how to get more enjoyment out of Trianz Model Railroad....

!!! Warning !!! The following posts will pertain to Amtrak MOW .....if for some reason this topic is of no it interest to you read no further, on the otherhand if you like Mow equipment and Amrtrak then you will probably love the following postings................

First off I need to give JointedRail a very special thanks for the custom pieces they created on upon request at a reasonable price point.............especially to Mike for his help and Alex in designing the actual trainz pieces.
Below is the reference photo I sent mike showing the GP7 I was interested in having made, one that was weathered

...

Below is the Trainz Amtrak 776 GP-7 version.......and a 60' Amtrak flatcar with different loads...

Number 778 is weathered more then 776.....used and abused.....nicely worn in. Also you will see some interior shots as well:

I am super satisfied to say the least...(continued on next page)

Not only does the loco come in 3 different versions the flatcar comes in 2 if you look closely at the wood covering.

Below: Custom loads of new rails and ties....

Custom loads of railroad tracks and girders......

Below some loads that I had in surveyor...Grader, Volvo Dump truck and Volvo Front End Loader, and bridge girders

Again hats off to the guys at JointedRail...I forgot to mention that the overhead roof on the loco's cab has 2 strobes that can flash if you desire with a great effect..I will post a short vid later showing these great pieces...........the detail is incredible

And some folks thought Amtrak was only for Passenger BIZ,

 Those are some swell pieces of equipment, the Weathering is to die for! :D Outstanding as usual.

Thanks for the Great Pics:mop::mop:

I was looking for Amtrak equipment and came across these RoadRailers, I had actually come across a SantaFe consist of roadrailers while 4 wheeling in the desert, quite a sight to see....

Isn't that what re skinning is ... recoloring them ?

Thanks John, :confused:I'm still green on this reskin or recolor biz, is there a link you could post so I learn more about the asset files for reskin stuff. I only know how to change hues and color intensity, using Paint. Net program..
I'd like to learn about Weathering assets to....

Strange looking train.

How will it act when rail bends or at junctions?
Too small space between them...

Actually they are quite capable, the one I saw was winding its way through an "S" turn...looked like a snake moving through the desert.....and it was a very long unit train..............only caught seeing it once....

Good Morning,

Was wondering, did you just re skin these from another Flatcar or just do a recolor on them?

I got it with the GP-7, the flatcar came with a skin changer for the two you see plus it had custom loads made for it. All done by Alex at JointedRail as a custom order. Extremely detailed loco and cool loads for the flats....

Last night I had a marathon session on the DLS, I managed to download 184 scenery items....you can imagine the royal pain it is installing them now but when I am done I promise to incorporate a bunch into the modified Brazemore Yard layout.............. :D
