Keep from Cluttering up Your Content Manager

Now how do you do that, you say? Well here's how:
1. Whenever you go to save a route, select 'delete missing assets', select 'yes', then save it. This is what you need to do if you are going to upload this route onto the Download Station, and when you go to the Content Manager, this route will show no missing dependences, unlike if you didn't delete the missing assets. Any time you don't do this the route will show that there are some missing dependences, regardless of if it's an autosave or you save it. Delete the versions of the route that have the missing dependences.
2. If you don't need a piece of content, delete it OR save the content as a .cdp file and delete it from the content manager.
Doing this will make the occasional Quick Database Repair when the game starts up finish quicker.

Delete Missing Assets shouldn't be necessary before uploading a route because there simply shouldn't be any - how can an asset be missing from the local machine that built the route?

Not sure if I am reading you right, but deleting Missing Assets on one install has absolutely no bearing on 'Missing Dependencies' on any other machine....

Every time I save a route without selecting 'Delete Missing Assets', I go to the CM and it shows the route has missing dependences. The missing dependency is always a piece of 'unknown content' with my author number in the KUID. To avoid this, I simply use the 'Delete Missing Assets' feature and I won't get any missing dependences. AutoSaving always shows a missing dependency and it is always a piece of unknown content with my author number.

Maybe it's a session that has been orphaned when you saved your route under a different name "save as"
