Oh snap. the M8 is looking really good with the bogeys, lights, and pantographs. Can you please tell me how you did all of that. I am so happy with the progress being made on the M8. Thank you Mikey186 for taking the time to turn this M8 into a piece of rollingstock/locomotive.

No problem. Had a couple of attachments to make up, had a make up with my babe Sailor Mars, saving the world, Had Ami gave me a boost on where the attachment is supposed to go, had to shop all over the content database to find the right parts, and boom! Now it's not done yet. As you can see, shadows need fixing, alignment is off, etc. should be done in the morning.

So, I take it the doors are part of the mesh. What I would recommend you do is isolate the polys associated with the doors and save them as a separate mesh for each side, and attach them to the parent mesh via the attachment points a.doors0 and a.doors1. That way, you can add an anim.kin to the doors so that when the train pulls into a passenger-enabled station, the doors will open.

Good point. But I want to wait until the interior is made before I make the animation. Besides, had to change the ENTIRE color patlete into a colored texture file, now that because now ether was the plugin or trainz's fault, that does support material color on the mesh itself. I had to go into blender and fixed it all up.

Top seems a little unnatural to me... Here's a photo that (kinda) shows the roof. Linked because large: CLICK
If you can pause at the right frames, you should be able to get good textures from this video as well.

Those dark windows on the Metro North/CDOT M8 look fantastic compared to the default windows. An air propulsion sound or engine sound along with a Leslie RS2M would also be a nice addition to this M8. Once that is done, it will probably be time to run a couple of tests on the rails just like how the real M8's ran a couple of tests. Then we'll really be ready for revenue service, virtual that is. :D
