LETS GO PENS!
Hello Trainzers
this is my second attempt at this route and i have learned so much about surveyor since i started my first Pittsburgh sub, route i started out knowing virtually the bare minimum, and that led to a poor route.
with all the PRR equipment being made by K&L Trainz your going to need a high quality route to run them!
well im back and im making this route RIGHT, using everything surveyor has to offer. and this route WILL BE VERY ACCURATE! so K&L and i present you my up and coming project that will include
*Accurate tack grade
*seasonal trees, grass, textures! (still cant figure out why the ultra textures wont change all the way to snow)
*accurate PRR 4 track spacing and trackage.
*accurate scenery.
*accurate signals.
please enjoy the screenshots and if you can help out in anyway to make this route as accurate as possible please do not hesitate to let me know :)

Gorgeous! This looks like it'll be a top-notch route. Just one thing: I recommend using GrahamSea's PRR signals - they look and work just like the real thing. They are easy to configure though I can walk you through it if needed.

Are you using track maps for the route, if not you should consider it and I can help you acquire them.

thank you, such as track maps, reference pictures, or just information all together.

Nice shot, and great work, on the spillway (that deverts toxic strip mine run off water, shifting them around the 3 Altoona resiviors).

I'm glad that you have the 4 track, early "Horseshoe Curve" details (before the wrought iron fence, and K4 installation).

Are you including the "Muleshoe Curve" Secondary trackage as well ?]
thank you, and yes i am making the mule shoe curve but there is a catch, the dem im using is missing one base board and it is exactly were muleshoe is so ill have to try and make it myself, and you may be able to answer this but in the 30's and 40's were there still sidings and track branching off the curve heading up the hill?
PRR Horseshoe Curve ca. 1940s 800x.jpg

im having a hard time figuring out when this picture was taken

I use an actual copy from an ns yard office but have found these to be the same thing. I don't know what era you are modeling so you may have to look around. I'm away from home right now (going to see the heritage units) but when I get home I can check and see if I have you're map downloaded from eastcoasttrainz.com. Like I said, not sure if the map you need is here but it's worth a look. Anyways...

Go here: http://www.multimodalways.org/archives/rrs/rrs.html

Then click the railway: Norfolk southern

At the top left it will say track charts, click it and scroll to the one you need. Like I said, you may need something older, in that case you could try prr or others.

These charts are Definaltey worth looking at.

Brandon :)

From Huntingdon to Johnstown is oodles of baseboards ... the line all the way to Harrisburg would be absolutely collosal in size !
