Just downloaded Trainz 2012, but only 2 routes installed?

Hi all,

A few months ago I bought Trainz 2012 on Steam. A couple of weeks ago my computer blew up so I have downloaded and reinstalled Trainz 12 onto a new computer that exceeds the requirements.

I clicked 'play' on Steam, then the launcher appears and I click on options, enter my username password and serial number. Then I click on 'Start'.

I get into the game and there are only two routes that exist. 1 - springfield industrial district, and 2 - municipal transit railroad.

I know Trainz12 comes with more routes, so I am wondering why they don't appear?! What have I done wrong!

Thanks for your help!

Hi jpcfc,

Welcome to the forums.

The Steam version is limited route-wise due to the lack of patches.

Try doing a database repair in Content Manager though - click Content, followed by File, then Extended Database Repair.

You also need to register your serial number with N3V.

Nope, Shane. It has exactly the same routes as the N3V version. Patches have got nothing to do with it.

@jpcfc: Did you by any chance elect to see only favourite routes? If there is a yellow star (Favourites) at top of the Routes menu, click it to reveal all routes.

It is, as Nickie suggests, probably an option you have checked which is only showing a couple of routes. If in doubt, you can right click on the Trainz 12 in your library on Steam and check the properties, even to the extent of verifying the content. The Steam version is older than the latest patched non-Steam version, but at present it should be updated enough to the extent that it'll work okay. I have both the Steam and the non-Steam versions of Trainz 12 and they are essentially identical as far as default content is concerned.

Thanks all for the quick responses.

I have solved the problem, it wasn't anything to the settings but it must have been a damaged install/download.

I downloaded all 9GBs of it again and now it works fine!

Thanks

Fair enough, but I do know that it is still limited as to what routes can be used on it.
