Just a quick question...

When I try and Add a map to Trainz 2006, it gives me errors, and it say that I'm trying to load the map without a session. How can this be? I load the session, and it does the same thing. Please help!

it's a used copy... And yes, I DID patch it. And still, it does the same thing, and It did not patch (At least I think) properly. I moved it to windows 7 about 4 weeks ago, and it works better then on a Windows XP that I have. But also, there are so many errors, I might just stick with 2012 Trainz. Also, where can I get updates for Trainz 2012? Don't mean to go off topic with the 2012.

Quite vague: "When I try and Add a map to Trainz 2006" ... what does that mean ?

An 09, 10, 12 route will not load into TRS2006

Trainz Railways Full Version Buld 3337 requires no service patch

I mean that the map will NOT load, the Session won't Either, for survayor that is. I think I tried to load it in Driver, and it gave me the same issue. And also, why does this happen in Trainz 2006 and below, but not in 2009 and up?

Are you trying to load an 09,10,12 route into TRS2006 ?

If the trainz-build line in the route config file is above 2.6, it will never load into TRS2006, not even if you backdate it.

I don't understand why you're flogging this dead horse, and an unregistered one at that. You've got TS12, and routes are backwards compatible which means any route from 1.3 all the way to TS10 will load right up.

Ok, and why is that? The map IS built for 2009, and I read many post about this occuring, and thought it could be resloved. Thanks for the help.

Ok, thanks for the help! That's all I needed to know! Also, one last thing, why do most older content use seperete pictures for the texture's, (EX SI3D Henry) And most newer content for 2009 and up uses less picture's, and the files are .tga files?

Simple answer is PROGRESS. Things evolve, and generally get better, with a few exceptions.
-The real question is "Does it really matter?", and the answer is NO it does not. N3V do things for their own reasons, and it matters NOT why or how...it just IS.

I can see that you've calmed down a bit since your last rampage, but you're still a bit rambunctious, so take this critisizm and learn from it.

1. You have called your copy of 2006 both a "demo" version and a "Used" version from the very beginning...you have also admitted, at some point, that it is an ill-gotten gain.
--Please learn here: DROP the 2006, COMPLETELY! It would be different if you actually paid for it, and wanted support (which you still would not get, because N3V dropped it), but you didn't.

2. You said before that you only bought TS12 to gain access to the DLS for content for your 2006...That's rediculous. TS12 is "current", and you seem to have a Win7 computer that will run it.

3. To many folks, you buying TS12 does not take away the fact that you got 2006 by ill-means (by your own admission) ESPECIALLY when you continue to use it, and ask for help with it.

Say you steal a car, but then crash it...You go get it fixed, and pay the repair bill...Does that mean you own the car now?
--No, you are still going to jail for Grand Theft, but you will also get laughed at for paying the repair bill on a stolen car.....Get it yet??

Before I Had the full version of trainz, (and before I heard about 2009 trainz) in 2009, I found the demo, Driver's and Hawes demo, and that was 2009, I now am still trying to figure out Trainz 2012, and that the Bugs are gettting out of hand in Trainz 2012. I no longer have the demo, as It wouldn't install the last time I tried to run the installer, which was about 5 months ago. I basically given up on Trainz 2006, as I imported a Route from it into 2012, and I still working on that route to this day for Mutiplayer. Also, Trainz 2006 does poorley on Windows 7. And i don't mean to offend anyone if I said something wrong. Also, just a side note, I don't use any custom content for trainz 2006. It's outdated and it useless.

By the above, you seem to "Get it", but if you can see for yourself that 2006 is a waste of your time, why THIS, below?
-Say one thing, do another...not good for anyone.

To re-state what was said before, your 2006 route project will move into TS12 (you will need to "fix" some content and errors if you do this, because of the huge difference between the two versions) but a TS12 route WILL NOT go backwards to 2006 version (TS 12 will not even go back to just TS2010).
-If you built it is 2006, then moved it to TS12 and edited it at all, it is no-longer 2006 compatable, and might be the cause of your 2006 errors (again, the answer is to not go back to 2006).

My suggestion; export anything you made in 2006 and save it someplace on your PC, then DELETE the 2006 version, and it's installer.exe, force yourself to use the TS12.
-Play it, learn it, enjoy it...then in a few weeks tackle importing and updating your 2006 projects, one at a time.

Already did that. Everything is Imported, and the map has 3 parts to it now. 2006 is gone for good. I built it first off for 1 map, and now, it's almost a good, mutiplayer map. I imported all of the old stuff from it, but I still have to import the Old RBR maps and such. the Map I tried importing to trainz 2006 before was a SI3D route. I have all the info now, so thanks for helping me.

Recycling an old "Question" thread, ... so I don't have to start a brand new "Question" thread:

What makes a TRS2004 and TRS2006 route grid, different from an 09, 10, 12 route grid ?

Why does a 09, 10, 12 route, show up as "map missing", or is just a blank sky with no baseboard grids, in TRS2004 and TRS2006 ?

Is the grid kuid just so radically different, that the 09, 10, 12 grid will just never be able to be backdated into TRS2004 & TRS2006 ?

I am looking for a scintific reason as to "why" an 09, 10, 12 route can not be viewed in TRS2004 & TRS2006 ?

What is it "exactly" that causes the mapfile so different, that it can not be backdated ?

I bumped this thread ... Because my post, #17, is directly related to the issue, that you originally brought up in your thread.

You can always go back and edit your entire thread and take out the wording, and post: "Post Deleted"
