it only lights up in the dark yes.

Note: At TANE, 84356, the EOT does not blink.
The fix is to change the "blink" label to be unique. Example, first "blink" becomes "blinkf" and the next becomes "blinkr".
This fix also works for rolling stock from Jointed Rail with the EOT option.
**** UPDATE, in a prior post, it states the "FRED - Flashing Rear End Device" only works in the dark. The provided JR EOT does work that way. The above change will cause it to work in all light conditions. ****
