Join the TS2009 Beta now!

I pre-ordered yesterday (21 Nov 08) got an email with download link of the beta, but no serial number, so I assume as it is getting close to release date the beta program has stopped. Am I correct?

Yeah - I sent a ticket to Auran and they explained the Beta keys had stopped for preorders.. but release date is Very Very soon!!

Looking forward to it :Y:

Somewhere I saw the release date for TS2009 is scheduled for Nov 26. Is this correct? Has it been changed - still on schedule? Was the date just approximate?

TS2009 info is scattered about the forum in different threads, Hard to find the last, final word on this stuff. Who knows for sure?

I tried the beta. Unusual that I had to pay $29.99 to download it. Anyway, it looks to have potential. When does the finished product come out? I presume it will be free for those who have paid to beta test? :(

Hell Weevil

The beta is free to try.

$29.99 is you're paying for the Gold Version with SP1 (The Released Version)

Ahsan:)

Hi Ashan!

Pardon, I have to laugh - apologize. :)

I have bought and get the gold and SP1.

The current state of my thoughts: GOLD +SP1 = BETA1

Read what CC write and think, I think TS2009 is dead before it works.

A Game with out Content is not a Game. ;)

when you find Ironie it is your. :)

Excuse for my bad english.

Also in my opinion Gold + SP1 is equal to BETA.

Even though I am enjoying the simulator as it is, I am worried that, like previous versions ( I also used Trainz Classics ), TS2009 will never truly reach maturity or its full potential. That is a shame and probably has a huge influence on many of the more experienced trainz fans here on these boards; a group that is desperately needed for support by the developer to advertize its product.

So far I am afraid that the more experienced group has convinced me to not invest more money in a product that is not even close to "finished/maturity". One look at the (mostly useless) iTrainz part of this product is enough reason for me to seriously doubt the direction in which the developer is investing its resources.

Steam engines in Trainz 2009

Will there be at any newly released or any updated versions of steam engine content for trainz 2009 i was a user of 2006 for a long time and have through the game become very intersted in australian railways, and obviously with 2006 there was a great amount of content for australia with regards to steam locomotives rolling stock and gauge options allowing for some interesting operating options

I suspect, and I may be wrong, but these 'white' locomotives and carriages may be old 'legacy' paintshed skin vehicles, and as everyone knows, paintshed as a 'stand alone' type product, finished effectively with TRS2004 - however, I believe that it lives on 'in another form' in TRS2006, but I have yet to fully explore TRS2009 WBE to see if it exists there (in TRS2006 it was accessable via CMP).

Paintshed is no longer a part of Trainz and is not available in TS2009. The unpainted locos are included because TS2009 builtin assets includes locos that are reskinned assets that alias the paintshed items and require the white originals to be present so that the reskinned ones work.

Hi MRWELLS
The items that you are speaking of are legacy items for Paintshed reskins. As Paintshed is not included (nor supported) for TS2009, these items now actually appear in game. They can still be repainted though. This would be done by cloning the loco, opening the .bmp files, and repainting these using a standard image editor, such as photoshop, the gimp, and so on.
