Yes the options screen asks for username password ect and the serial from the email,I enter that ,click ok and the screen goes away,but when I click the button to run ,options screen reappears. Same thing if I go into start menu and open from there and click on the icon to start, option screen comes up.
The other thing is it is trying to connect to auran planet and always times out, so Im wondering ,is that the reason for a no start, it cannot get to your web site to do its thing and stops.

I am having a problem now, my OS is XP not Vista BTW, but when attempting to get into Start on TS2009, it says that the Content is broken and I need to exit and go into CMP, which I have three times now tonight, and a little box pops up and says repairing built-in asset content please wait, and then hangs there for at least 30 minutes until I press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to exit the game. I've done this 3 times now and getting nowhere at all. I even had a pop-up that wanted to know my Beta ID code number, which I've never had before.....I haven't been able to get into the game at all this evening, so I'm going to bed now in a huff.....:hehe:
Seems like a few more issues have reared their heads.

Download gives error when trying to unzip

I purchased and downloaded (twice) the Beta, but in both cases when I try to unzip I get the error message --

"Access to (the filename) is denied. This can happen when a disk is full or not formatted, a file is corrupted or open or you do not have sufficient access rights."

The zip file shows up sized as 2,790,326,266 bytes in both cases, so I have a feeling I have the complete file (else having them being the same size would be a coincidence?).

Anyone got an idea what my next move should be?

Have you got a free folder unzipper installed on your PC such as RarZilla, you can get it from this website and follow the instructions for its use.....

You should then be able to unzip any folder you download in the future, quite handy for 3rd party stuff which normally comes in zipped formats.

Strange things happen as when I first got the email with a serial number,my computer never showed that it registered the serial number,it just sat there, an email to helpdesk and they replied I was registered and it does show up. On my computer it never confirmed that it was registered.
I downloaded the trs 09 twice in case of bad download, no difference, same thing, will not start,just shows the page that I posted above.So if someone from trs is reading this ,perhaps a new serial number that I can register and that my computer will register may help. It says launch manger corrupt. I did manage to find that by right clicking on something when I opened the file folder.
Untill I can get some help on this I guess I wait until the full version is released.

Sounds to me like a corrupt install. Have you tried to remove it and re-installing again. The install really isn't any different than earlier versions.

No,its beyond that, have downloaded several times, installed many times on Vista as well as XP. Helpdesk thinks its a bug so its going to the development team to figure out.

In order to open zip files bigger than 2Gigs, you need Winzip 9 or greater. You might want to try some of the third party decompressions programs as well and see if that doesn't work. If not download Winzip 10, and that should work fine.

You have to pre-order the game. Then they send you an email with your Serial Number and download site.

I do envy you guys and gals. I have now tried six times and still failed to get a clean download ( I do have problems with large files. I think BT needs to upgrade our line). Oh well I shall just have to wait for my DVD copy of the final product.

I am having the same issue as you, al instaled but the configure trainz box keeps opening up.

I had the same problem. I discovered I had entered BETE instead of BETA in CD KEY. I changed it to what it should be and still had a problem.
I cleared the whole CD KEY and entered it again correctly. That worked.

I am up and running now, just kept reinstalling and finaaly one worked,now to see what 09 has in store.
