Issues after surveyor save.

might be back?
Hello, I am just wondering if anyone else is having the problem with SP3 TS2010 that I am having.

Every time that I save in surveyor, the game locks up, and I have to force the program to close. (black screen, ect.) It does successfully save the route, but I have to do this every time that I save. Then, most of the time, I will go to launch the launcher to bring trainz back up, and instead of the launcher, I get a black box that has the build number. I have to alt+F4 to get out of it, and then TRS won't work until I restart my computer.

Then, once I get it back running again, all of my settings are reverted back to defaults, which is really annoying.

I ran an extended database repair today, but it did nothing.

Yups, I have exactly the same problem.

It does not happen all the time but it will at least once a day over the past few weeks. I thought it was due to the very large layout I have been working on though now that you have the same problem I am not sure.

Poke around the boards. Apparently this is a flaw introduced by SP3. I forget the work-around. I think I read something about not saving the session but I could be wrong. I didn't pay much attention because the prevalence of this issue has convinced me to skip SP3.

Not getting any problems saving, however I do all my editing in the one session, then save session and route plus do a merge every so often when I'm happy with the progress so far, to merge the session to the route.

Okay, so that means that I am literally screwed for several months while I wait for auran to fix it with a new patch since they decide to throw everything into one delayed patch rather than fixing some of the more glaring issues instantly.

I have the same problem too, plus I keep freezing up after using surveyor in about 5 mins. try doing save as

Hi all:wave:

I have had this problem a few times and the way I deal with it in one of two ways. First if I am saving but still want to carry on editing the route I just save the route. If I want to save both route and session I exit the game, it then askes if I want to save; I then save route and session. This mostly works and even if Trainz locks up it still saves both correctly. I then use content manager to close Trainz. I will admit it’s not the ideal way to have to do things; but until things are sorted, it works for me.

I shouldn't have said anything, had my first lockup when saving last night............. It did save ok though. Also noticed that shortly before that my frame rates took a nose dive in driver after an extended editing session, like from 40fps in a "busy" area to 12.........

I'm thinking there is a caching problem somewhere as looking at Tadaemon / Trainzutil, there seems to be a lot of rapid deleting things going on when saving.

I use Windows XP SP3 32Bit with TRS2010 SP3

This is a problem with TADaemon.EXE

I had the same problem, and deduced it was a problem with TADaemon.EXE
Before saving in surveyor, i now ALT+CTRL+DEL and close (end process tree) TADaemon.EXE then save.

Having no problems, TADaemon.EXE WILL restart in the background so you need to do this all the time :(

If there is a way of permanantly disabling TADaemon.EXE please let me know

Here is the thing I do not understand. Before bug fi sorry service pack 3 the only thing that worked ok was the save function and everything else worked when it felt like it. So someone must have thought hey lets fix stuff and so they did such but in their clumsiness they knocked over the save function now this is the point how can the save function have anything to do with say the draw distance function are they different software calls within the coding?
I do know about this as I used to write machine code stuff for ZX81’s about 45 years ago. I bet that impresses you guys (that bits not meant to be taken seriously).

But the point is how can working on one bit of the code affect a totally unrelated part of the coding???
