Dust
Rolling stock animations such as opening doors are fully operative in TRS2004, both for passenger carriages and freight wagons. As always, they do of course rely on the asset having that feature.
Any conflicts between various different types of rolling stock items are probably caused by an error in an asset, not by TRS2004. I've never seen such a conflict.

Yes, that's right, doors open and folk load (although we don't actually see them walk onto the carriage, I think that would be a bit much) and I can see plenty of coal dust flying about as wagons unload in 04 too, so that is not outside the realms of practicality with the scripting in that version.
Before I got involved with Trainz (the original version) I worked with a German train sim called SoftwareUntergrund (anybody remember that?) and they accepted quite a few of my suggestions. In that program, which was similar to Trainz but in MHO not as good visually, there were opening shed doors as stock approached. They didn't need a CMP or any other xMP, but there was a limit to stock which was mainly European in genre.
There were trams and buses too, a good program for the period I felt.
Yet Trainz did not have opening shed doors and until these later versions never did have as far as I know. And now to get this option the program itself has got a rather complicated asset management system.
Don't most folk just want to get stock and enjoy running trains around? I have seen that sentiment stated several times on this forum. And to be able to run them quickly and simply. Since TRS2004 we seem to have wandered off course and lost that straightforward approach.
I agree that a company, any company, needs to have cash flow from sales, that's what they are there for. But no company will get a large cash flow from a program that is faulty or very difficult to use when it need not be. I know Auran have tried hard to improve their product but seem to me to have gone 'over the top' and away from an easy-to-use simple game (which is what it actually is) and are edging towards a professional looking simulation. Is that what folk really want? Taking forever to load assets is not a good idea and gets frustrating, especially when CMP fails to work at all and just sits at IDLE, ignoring the list in the window next to it. I gave up on TC3 and will not buy any further version using a CMP type interface.
While it is not unreasonable to expect a patch to fix faults in a new game how far does a company go with that? Personally and even at this late stage, I would be happy to pay for an update to 2004 that would enhance it, but without CMP. The ease with which assets go into 04 has to be seen to be believed... zero hassle in 99% of cases.
The 1% is caused by a faulty line of placement in the config, not 2004.
And...
As far as I remember God created the World in six days and rested on the seventh... called the Sabbath, that's why it is supposed to be a day of rest.
