Is Trainz2010 an upgrade of TrainZ2009

My question is the 2010 program an upgrade of the 2009 TrainZ. Can one do all the same things in 2010 that one could do in 2009. Like start with a fresh board, and build, terrain, communities, roads, rail/track, station, stops etc. What is the improvement with the 2010TrainZ over the 2009 TrainZ. I have read that one can load one's previous boards to the new program (how true). Does one need to remove 2009 to load 2010 and how does one save the previous scenarios and stock downloaded and incorporated in the 2009 programs and transfer to the new 2010.
When 2009 TrainZ came out, it did not produce a new manual but offered a 2006 manual. Will 2010 TrainZ have a new manual.
There are several questions here, answers to all or part would be appreciated.

OK, I'll answer what I can...
-TS2010 is a complete program - it includes all of the legacy routes and content from previous versions (except TC3 and the TS2009 add-ons), plus a number of new routes.
-TS2010 includes 'Speedtree' - a new type of built-in high detail tree.
-The surveyor module has been re-vamped again with the introduction of layers.
-There is better handling of semi-transparent items (like the older trees) than in TS2009 (or any other version for that matter).
-If it worked in TS2009 it will almost certainly work in TS2010
-You can import maps from any other version of Trainz - just be prepared to correct a few content errors.
-I believe TS2010 will install over TS2009 and update it, but I don't know the details.
-If you install them separately, content can be imported by using the import content option in the content manager, and selecting the TS2009 'local' folder. It's not a quick process.

From what I've read, TS2010 being installed on a computer with TS2009 will offer you the option to "merge" the installs. Basically it will replace the copy of TS2009. At least some of those who did a merge install wished they had done a stand alone install instead, so I'd probably do a stand alone and then run File|Import Content on the TS2009 local folder. (After a merge install, apparently, TS2009 won't actually exist on the computer. All the TS2009 icons will run TS2010 instead, and if for some reason you wanted to use TS2009 instead of TS2010 you'd have to reinstall it.)
