Is there an Easy way?

transitguard

workin' away.......
Hi all

I am trying to thin out my trainz2006 assets. You know, deleting ones that haven't been used in a while, ect. What I would like to know is: is there an easy way of deleting assets and their dependencies EXCEPT the ones that are used by other assets?

Thanks

TG

and reinstall it for Misc. objects
, therefore,

Are you talking about assets you've downloaded TG, or built-in stuff ??
If it's stuff you've downloaded, you can only delete one item at a time, say for example a locomotive, you would need to know which dependencies are attached to it, bogeys, enginespecs, etc, and then delete each one individually, and for layouts, then you'd have to do a list of all the assets on that route and again delete them one at a time. I've never known an occassion when you can delete an asset and everything attached to it will disappear as well, CMP doesn't work like that.....regrettably.

Mr. Transitgaurd, stand at attention...

 Do not attempt to waste your time deleting Auran Trainz Assets you "think" you don't need...

Your Future may include routes & therefore dependencies that you have...

You have a License & are recognized as an Auran Trainzer!

What you have may be categorized as a Encyclopedia of History of the Development of Nations, by the utilization of steel-wheel on steel-rail...

Your wasting time...you need storage...!

I have over 10 GB of stuff I don't need (and my comp is getting pretty desperate for HD space). If I find a route that uses them later, I'll re-download them. I have found that by selecting a whole load of assets and right clicking view dependent assets, I can find out what the dependent assets are and if there are, or are not dependencies of routes I'm not going to delete in my selection.

Simple

Clear the picklist. Find the loco or traincar you want to delete, drag it to the Picklist. Select it again in Main List and search for dependencies. View that list in Main List, select them all and drag and drop to the Picklist. Do this multiple times for all you want to delete.

Now select Show in Main List, select them all and Delete. Clear the Pick List
