Is there a maximum file size install for TS12 SP1HF4?

Hi, I am trying to install a DEM of Hawaii I made and taddaemon throws a 'Not responding' message at me whenever I try to install, the entire folder is just over 2.16GB and I think that may have something to do with it, all help is appreciated.I suppose I could split it and make two dems to merge, but I want to avoid that if possible.

Hi Bobby,

The 2GB limit may very well be your problem. I've had that issue myself with one of the routes I was working on. Try splitting the DEM into two or three and then merging them in TS12 and see if that works for you. This did work for me.

Are you sure it's 2GB? I worked it down to 1.48GB and it did the same thing...

There are other factors that maybe affecting this such as how much memory (RAM chips), and how much disk space you have. Remember Content Manager its self has to swap stuff around as it imports your route, and this can have an affect on how big a file that can be handled. Remember all of this is being fit into a maximum memory (RAM DIMM) space of 4GB as allocated on a 64-bit operating system. If you have a 32-bit operating system to begin with, with less memory than that, you'll definitely have to plan accordingly.

I have a 32-bit with 4GB of DDR2 Ram, I need a new CPU anyways, it looks like crap... May end up doing that over the summer... My uncle just passed and he built computers for the U.S. Military, may have to (respectfully) take something from his house...

Sorry to hear about your uncle, but upgrading is a good thing anyway to a 64-bit operating system with more memory. In general a decent computer today is not that expensive compared to years ago, and you can get quite a kit from EggHead. You might want to do this anyway with T ANE coming out at the end of the year.
