Hello, I was was wondering if there is a list of all the locomotives in the game, or all the IND buildings

Reason is i do not know all the names of them all and some have weird names, same with the IND buildings

Thanks in Advance!:D

Start up Content Manager. Any content with the laptop icon is installed on your computer and any content with a yellow background laptop icon is built-in.

So to view just this content, you need to setup a filter with Installed + Built-in.

True, but this can be filtered too to show just scenery items, just cars, just trains, track, etc.

Many of these things are easily fixed. Look at the config.txt file and see what's missing.

Sometimes the missing item is an error caused by the creator copying and pasting information. Other times you can easily substitute items such as horn sounds and engine specs. What I do in this case is look at the same unit from another creator that is not missing any assets and reference those missed items in the newly downloaded unit.

The thing is, you want to search out the more recent content. There is less of a chance to have missing content with these items because the uploading is more strict than the uploading was in the old days. This is not to say you're not going to run into something missing. You can always contact the author too and let them know there are missing items.

Excellent - I wish I had found this earlier!! Not sure if its complete though but it is most helpful.
Tell me about it..
We must remember that we can't find all the answers in the forum, we have to work as well - for instance learning how to understand and use CM's ( which is the heart of the game to me ) one has to do and explore things - and make mistakes - to learn. There is still so much to learn...I feel better though when I see the 'Big Guns' also learn and they are not shy to say so. I only realised or grasped recently that an asset's dependencies can come from all over and not just one source, and this took my blinkers off .:D

Jan,

You summed this up perfectly. :) Trainz is very much like a physical hobby where making something requires the mental work as well as the creative part. Like a model train layout, there are so many aspects of this virtual hobby that suit many different tastes and abilities. Just learning and keeping up with one aspect, can be quite overwhelming at times. I admit I am no expert at this stuff. I've only been at it for a number of years now, and have been hit in the head a few enough times to know when to duck and where to look.

The main thing to remember is never be afraid to ask questions, especially in the forums here. By asking a question, others will learn from the same post and this will become another addition to our treasure trove of information we have here.
