This depends on how the loco's creator set things up and unless you're an advanced expert you won't be able to change it.

With most locos the wipers don't work. With some other locos they work automatically when it's raining. I can't remember seeing any locos with operative in-cab wiper controls but AFAIK it should be possible. I have seen a loco with an in-cab control which operated a little fan to keep the driver cool, which presumably is a similar type of thing.

The Union Pacific SD90MAC-H (kuid:40334:89020) has a cab view with animated wipers and a rotating fan. They can be switched on and off with the switches on the control panel. You can also open and close the windows and move the sun screens up and down by using the mouse.

It takes a script to mechanize many functions inside a cab, including the wipers. Phil_C's L SD70s have wipers that you can activate and are animated as viewed from inside the cab but they aren't animated in the outside view.

Hello Bob
Just to set the record straight, the original SD70's I supplied to Auran did indeed have working wipers when viewing outside the loco but Auran changed the message that triggered the animation prior to releasing TRS2006 without letting me know about it so that feature was/is broken. All my payware locomotives have this feature fully functional.

Yes, Auran .ja umped the gun on us...

 Phil's payware is there in the rain...!...

I'm amused that you see enough rain to hand wipe.:hehe:

You actually operate in the rain?:o

Most people want a sunny day, maybe one cloud!:D

Hello Bob
Yes there is but I would have to rewrite the scripts used in the built in SD70's. They are the only ones affected now.

Regards

Phil
