Is anyone else having a similar problem...?

MKT Forever and always
I know the DLS has been having problems recently, but i'm just wondering if this has anything to do with it.

I've just recently (as in past-few-minutes recently) tried to download a few assets i needed through CM3.3. however, when i dragged them to the download box, it just sits on "searching" even though the items appear to be fully "found;" IE they have their download total, names, etc. but still, there are question marks after their names, and CM3 is just spinning and spinning and spinning, not letting me download.

I was just wondering if anyone else was having this or a similar problem. I suspect it all links back to the DLS being down last night (here, at least) as the black pages have been acting funny today, and the itrainz light blinked on and off a couple times for me. Is this just me, or something more systemic?

CM3.3 has been working fine for me now, and for the last 3 days.
I always right click the asset I want and select download. I have no FCT. My location is southern UK (Glos).

I am currently downloading colin_holt's BR Class 47 Railfreight Red 2, <kuid:138579:4711:2> no probs at all. Maybe your ISP has troubles???

@stagecoach, that's interesting, the download pane shows for me (which usually means CM3 is connected to the DLS) but it's still not finding the assets. i guess this is going to be another "sans-DLS" weekend...i hate those.

Yeah, it appears to be a problem with my internet connection...the internet here's slower than a N&W coal drag:hehe: :o

as usual, the problem lies on my end...typical.

No write access

Hi I'm a neewby to TS 12 and all of a sudden I can't download from DLS.

I'm getting error of: "Unable to aquire write access to userdata folder"

I was able to download from the DLS last week without any problems.

Any ideas? Thanks

I have also seen that on a few [very rare] occasions - from memory it seemed to occur when starting TS12 immediately after booting up. Perhaps not enough time had been given for loading/starting services that TS12 needed. I can only recall it causing a problem on a single occasion.

My only suggestion is to wait before starting TS12 after booting or, if that is not the problem, then use one of the old remedies loved by the cast of "The IT Crowd" and one that I have used often enough...

"Log off and log on again" ... and if that doesn't work ...

"Switch it off and then switch it on again".

When all else fails, reboot.

That one goes back to the IBM 360, probably even before that.

Well, one observation, we all got these cute little station stop thingys so anyone can tell at a glance I have TS12 anniversary edition, TS2010, and TRS2004 without having to ask. What we need to add is an FCT label for anyone who has a first class ticket, maybe an embarrassed icon :o for all you low class rifraff. In the last 20 minutes I downloaded 15 megs worth of assorted assets, but from what I've heard the first class server and the free server are two different animals, so if one is working that don't necessarily mean the other one is. Anyone with an FCT having problems, or is it only you steerage bums?

Thanks
