So asking someone if they know of an asset that I or someone else is missing is impolite. I didn't even do all caps angry face or exclamation points. I'm just asking because all I put was the KUID and the thread was closed. Yet probably will get in trouble for just asking a question.

It depends upon how the question was asked. You tend to ask a lot of questions in a very demanding way which gets a lot of dander up on a lot of forum members here, including myself!

In the future, using quite a few please and thank yous along with other lines like thank you in advance, and your efforts are greatly appreciated, really go a long way, especially in the non-face-to-face way we communicate online.

So what KUID are you missing? Perhaps one of us can help.

John

I don't know if it's so much that, as that you ask a question for every possible thing short of asking for help how to turn your computer on or off. Second, it's plain to see that you don't even attempt to do any kind of homework yourself; if you had, you'd have found that missing asset in 15 seconds. I dropped a hint with that fancy new site I learned about called Google. In fact, many if not all of the questions you've asked could have been answered in a few minute's worth of searching either Google or these forums. And, finally, I think Zec (and others) noticed that you never say please/thank you. Now, I'll give anybody slack on that because we all forget. It's just, with the dozens of threads you've start asking questions, I don't seem to remember you saying it much if at all.

A Kuid is properly spelled: kuid:375722:1024 ... not: 375722:1024

The prefix: kuid is the most important part of the description.

To say to call me at 5551212 is noncensical, when the actual real number is 1-800-555-1212

To start a "brand new" thread called: Title:Phone Question:5551212 is vague and improper. as it barely gives a hint of what you are asking for.

Also ... to post a vague number: 375722:1024 ... without first hand using Google the: kuid:375722:1024 ... shows that you either do not know how to Google a kuid ... or you haven't even tried to Google a kuid... and are basicly asking for a freebee "Hand Out".

Also people on the forum are young much experinced experts, with littlte tolleration to noobies vague questions.

People on the forum are high strung, and are quick to get their panties all bunched up in a big fat wad, over the simpleist noobiest questions, that they personally take offense to, or consider it rude.

Kris94,
Seems that the asset you are after was made by Wulf_9, and is probably on the DLS if you can run a search with his username. I'd have had a quick peek for you but I'm having a hell of a time getting logged in to the DLS, it's been running badly for a few days now. If I manage to get into it I'll post back with a result either way.

Every one else,
You're not exactly being fair here. Chill out a little, and either help the guy, or don't. You're bordering on bullying here I feel.

Peace.

Good Morning Kris94

As was explained in my reply, the way that you asked the question was not polite. In fact, you didn't ask a question, you just put a kuid number into your post - this will be read by most people as effectively saying "here's a kuid number, find it for me now!"

An example of a polite post in this case would have been something like the following

Hi All
I'm wondering if anyone here knows where I might find kuid:xxxx:xxx

I have tried searching for this asset on the DLS, on google, etc, and have not been able to locate it.

Thanks

Granted, it takes a little more time to write. However it also shows to the community that you are willing to put in some effort. In return, they may be willing to put in some effort to help you, even though they aren't required too.

If you are not able to find an asset on the DLS, then please also try searching using google (or other search engines). Often you may find references to it on the internet that may lead you to the asset. Generally it's best to search for the 'full' kuid number (e.g. 'kuid:xxxx:xxx' or 'kuid2:xxxx:xxx:x').

If you are then unable to find the asset, and only then, try asking politely on the forums.

Please also ensure that you have read the Code of Conduct, since you do agree to abide by this when using the forums. In particular COC#19
