Interesting problem...dissapearing cars in surveyor

MKT Forever and always
I don't know whether to post this in here or SO&E, but here goes.

When i build a route, i like to have a couple cars, and maybe an engine or two, on the layout with me "to keep me company" and to make the layout not seem so empty. yes, i know they will be put into the "route" layer (something that took me a long time to get used to) but i usually end up deleting them after a while, or, if they're unobtrusive, i'll leave them and they can just lurk in my sessions in sidings.

Well, this was one of the latter cases. I had built a heavy freight train in Surveyor mode in my yard, and was back in session mode so i could modify it for session use. But somehow, when i cut the train in half, the cars just magically dissapeared. The game "stalled" for a moment (It froze momentarily, something it does every once in a while when i try to do too many things at once...i don't have the best computer for running trainz), and when it came back, the cars had vanished.

Now i have about 20 freight cars sitting invisibly on the track, and, even though you can't see them, they still show up as "consist X" on the map in driver. What's worse, i can't delete them from the route, or even get them to go into "session" layer where i could just delete the session they show up in. Today, i got the idea to try and delete the rollingstock from the route's config file, but i got scared when i saw all the numbered items. I didn't want to screw up the route even more than it already is.

Is deleting them from the config file even an option? Is there even a way i can get these cars to go away? Every time i try to back onto the siding, the engine invariably hits the invisible consist and derails. It's getting to be a nusiance, and as i plan to release this route, i can't have invisible cars blocking a siding. Does anybody have any ideas? because truth be told, I'm out of them.

Thank you in advance

Sawyer

Try placing any vehicle on the same track, then slide it along the track until it couples to the invisible consist. Switch to consist tab and delete. May work.
