Installing Trainz outside of your PC's ProgramFiles

Just how important is this ?

And how do you set it up ?

And do you set up particular special sections of PC disc space to use for each program ? (say if installing all: TRS2004, TRS2006, TS10, and TS12, all on one PC).

I always installed in: ProgramFiles, and the only thing is that the UAC keeps asking me: "Allow Program to run ? Y/N ? (which is no big deal to me).

Is it really necessary to install outside of ProgramFiles ? And Why ?

It is advisable if possible to install outside of Program Files, as Program Files and Program Files (x86) are heavily guarded by User Account Control. Whilst this may not be a problem as much if you are running as administrator, it will affect you if you edit asset config.txt files using Notepad as it will prevent you saving to the folder.

In terms of multiple versions, as long as they are in separate subfolders (although they can be in the same 'root' folder e.g. C:/Games/TS12 and C:/Games/TS2010) then that should be fine.

That's not a good idea, as you would have to decompress the files in order to play the game. One question for you though - do you actually have any Trainz versions?

What tool?

I try to register warez serial twice but got warnings and I've been warned for sharing details of trainz torrents with users and therefore I am well behaving in the present. Like a dog after it has been beaten I now know what I should not do in life.

Here in the Trainz forum there has never been so much forgiving persons. But it is true that a criminal can become a lover and a gentleman.

Bernie,

If this is true, do you realize this is a violation of copyrights and it is grounds for a permanent ban?

Regards,

John

Actually, he sounds like a friendly type guy ... my suggestion: buy a registrable disc of TRS2006 for @ $15 from EBay, or TS10 for $9.95 via SimCentral

It is amazing they still even let you take part in the forums! And after all these years you still have not bought a legitimate copy of Trainz? It really is not that much money!

No sence dragging that all up again, dragging people through the mud, by reposting a page (which is a Quoted photo) ... when this is in fact a thread: "Installing Trainz outside of your PC's ProgramFiles" ... exactly how far off topic, can we get here ?

You know, you can edit your post(s) an take out the offending Quoted photo, and even replace all the wording in your post.
