Industry Link object - how to make it work?

Anyone know if the author (MiZi) is still around? Has anyone written to him to ask that the asset be put on the DLS properly?

I've sent him a e-mail about this, no reply yet and mizi has not been on the Trainz forum for a while now, you can ask someone on the German Trainz forum about MiZi.

I agree that the industry link asset is needed.

There were a few groups whose members were dead against their assets being on the DS as a matter of principle, and I've a feeling that Mizi was a member of one of those.

Apologies Mizi if you're not a member of one of those groups, but it was a long time ago. :hehe:

This item is on the DLS database and is available via direct FTP as are three more of his creations. This path is correct, I downloaded the item yesterday.

Yeah I downloaded again last night, but was not able to get it through FTP, I had to go through the process of adding it to the download cart, then downloading with CMP.

I tried with TRS2006 and TC3.

So...sometimes or for some people, FTP works, sometimes it doesn't. At best the D/L link is dodgy. Plus, not everyone has (or wants) CMP. Remember, the asset is meant for '04 layouts, so it's important for the integrity of uploaded '04 layouts/sessions that this asset is reliably obtainable by FTP.

If I knew how to script one of these I would have made it, upload, and that would have been that ... :hehe:

I guess I might never understand why people don't put their stuff at Auran's DLS .... it makes it so much easier to get all the items at once! However, a layout can be kept someone else, because as soon as they download the rout, CMP will automatically get all the items from the DLS.

Who knows, now that I am getting my feet wet into the gmax and 3dmax pool I might do some readying and script one of these industries .... just for fun, to see how far I can get!!

Doh' I don't have an FTP client.. I can't just use Firefox/IE?
