Importing the 4m bump from 2006

Ok, I am using 2006 SP1 and TC1&2. A cattle feedlot in TC is missing the number -3:10049, which is (I guess) a 4m bump. This is built into 2006, I can see it there in the CMP...

I follow the instructions and open the 2006 CMP, I select the bump and open it for editing.

Leaving it selected, I close the 2006 CMP. Then open the TC CMP and browse to the 2006 editing directory. There is nothing named 4m bump there. There are a few other items with names nothing like 4m bump.

There are two or three folders marked Temp, followed by some scrambled numbers. But I left these alone. Can someone give me a clue on this please?

Also, I decided to reverse the situation and tried to commit the opened 4m bump back into 2006 and it gave me a warning about what I am trying to commit is already built-in. Is it dangerous to do something like this?

I am just a lowly, (but happy) engineer, trying to drive trains. Not a highly skilled Surveyor like you folks:D ! Thanks for any help. Bob P.

Are the joys of copying content

Here's how I get stuff out of 06 into TC3 or 09.

Open for edit in explorer the item you want in 06CMP,
In the explorer window click the upwards folder (normally a green upwards pointing arrow) button so that you now see the contents of the Edit folder,
Whatever is in the Edit folder copy to your desktop, Close the edit window and use Revert to Original in 06CMP,
Now open TC3/09 CMP and use the Import content command.

If you follow this you should get your 06 content into the version you want :D

Thank you honeymonster1971,

I will be trying your "edit in Explorer" method. And I'll come back here and tell you how it went.

Thanks! Robert P.

Andi, I tried your method and it worked!

I do wonder why the method in the TC1&2 manual did not work however.. Maybe I missed a step. Anyhow, I can see that your method works!

I wonder if I can just as easily import multiple items from the desktop in one lump?

I am in the process of trying to make my TC1&2 more useful. My 2004 and 2006 SP1 are filled up with US, UK, Canadian and Australian routes and trains.

I figure I'll try to set up TC1&2 for European and Tram routes and trains. I have four or five very nice routes from other versions that are working very well! And many locos and rolling stock.

Lately, I'm am filling in a route called DB-Projekt 1970. I saw a couple of your items in there... Disused Bridges II and III !!

It's mainly a small hand full of textures I must try to find in 2006! Thanks for your help. Bob P.

You're welcome Bob, I thought it would work as it's the method I used when I went over from 06 to TC3.

Of course going from TC3 to 09 created a whole load of new things to work out :hehe:

I wonder if I can just as easily import multiple items from the desktop in one lump?

Yes you can, Open for edit everything you want then follow the copy n paste bit, Make sure they are all in one folder on the desktop, open your TC CMP then click-hold n' drag that folder over cmp then release and it will install all of them at once:D.
