Important Question about sending CDP Files.....

Hi all, there has been some missing content issues with the North Bay 2 Ng30 route that I have uploaded to the DLS. I've been working on this issue for the last 6 1/2 hrs., locating Links to download the missing assets for the route. So far I have found out of the 51 assets that some fellow Trainzers are missing, I've found Links to 17 so far. after I complete this list, and if there is content that I cannot find, is it O.K., to send the missing files by e-mail to the Trainzers that are missing the assets, or is that a no, no? Well back to the list, I'll check in later. -Robert-

You can only request direct downloads from the asset creators.

Technically you are wrong, but this is a hugely troublesome issue that comes up time and again. Amatuer lawyers in the mostly-English-Speaking forums will point out license issues, 'illegal' redistribution issues and all sorts of other stuff which may or may not be the absolute correct and proper attitude.

In much of the rest of the Trainz community however it is the absolute norm for a route creator to pack all non-DLS assets in a single cdp and distribute it with the route. The 3rd party content is not modified, no claim to ownership is made, no kuids are changed, it's just a highly efficient and trouble-free way to make sure that all routes are distributed with all content available without hassle. It works...
