Implementing google maps on surveyor mode

Hi all,

I really want to create a route using google maps as an outline. Any tutorial how to import images from google maps onto trainz?

In other words...
I tried using G0akh's method, but when I try to save the file, I get "Access is denied"

Any help would be much appreciated

If you use basemaps, and your google earth image measurements are slightly off, and are out of scale, your route will end up way to big, and out of scale.

You snip an image using the MS Snipping Tool drawing a 1km x 1km "L" angle, using the GE Ruler/path/kilometers (part of your PC Accessories).

Yeah everything is 1024 x 1024 and I used the snipping tool.

Bump: It also says that the script file cannot be found.

Invest in a copy of Transdem. That way you can import maps from just about any source (with georeferencing) overlaid on the DEM ready to work on in Surveyor.

Ok I finally got it figured out. I just have to run paint as Admin, then open the file from there.

Any way to get higher quality images from google maps? I don't mind the quality I have now. It took me 1 night to finish the yard for the metro line Im building, because I was having a hard time seeing the map.

Higher quality map images are available from Google Earth.
