I've used IMGUR for a long time when posting screenshots but none of the link formats now seem to work. Is it me or are others having the same problem?

i just checked out my recent image posts using imgur, all the links are functioning that i checked. They do however seem to be changing things there and not for the better. I think they prefer it if you are posting on their site, not posting using external links and the changes are designed to discourage that practice.

This is the most recent image I have in Imgur, and uses their "direct link" format (what I always use). It seems to be working here.

I've been using Imgur for years, but as you say they seem to be busy with making changes. Logging in suddenly stopped working for me until I was able to Google an alternative way in. I found an option on on the site to use an older page format and I had no trouble after that. From what I've seen so far they are planning on removing accounts that aren't in active use which could cause problems with a loss of screenshots on older forum pages.

Because IMGUR was simple and I'd never come across the Trainz Gallery... I'll search it out! Thanks.

Even trainz gallery went “belly-up” for a while, I think it happened last year.
Imgur has changed their interface.
Click on an image to open sharing page.
Click on Copy link.
Add the link directly to the text of your Trainz forum post not to the link.
Select Preview to see how it will look in your post.

On second thought, I prefer the old design.
To switch back to the old design, select your name and then select “About”.
In the lower right-hand corner, you will see the button for “Use Old Design”.
In the popup window I selected “The new design is missing important feature” since it doesn’t have the link we would normally copy into the Trainz image box.

Imgur is now blocking all UK traffic. None of my images on RMWeb (a UK model railway website) are now visible and what they are now seeing is this image instead. And people in the UK can no longer make use of Imgur. Apparently this is due to an arguement over online safety regulations with the UK government. I can still use Imgur as a hosting website here fortunately.

Looks like I’ll be using freeimage.host or some other site next time I want to post an image. Even if it works for me in Australia, there’s no point using Imgur if parts of the world cannot see it. And they made a mess of the uploading interface, so screw them. I feel like an “elbows up” Canadian.
