Image file help please

Evening fellow Trainz fans....although for some it could be morning??

I am looking to get into content creation and am looking at what other users have done, as a learning exercise, and cutting files together to make 'new' objects and to just see what the effects are. I am currently trying to take a static plane and turn it into a 'driveable' loco so that it can 'fly' around my railway. What software would I need to open/edit a .im image file please (so that I can learn to make them for myself) and how would I animate a static aircraft propeller to make it appear as though it is turning?

Thanks in anticipation, Andy

Hello,

.im files are proprietary files which can not be "legally opened for edit". The best thing to do is download either Blender or GMax and the associated exporter. Then go to one of the amazing number of sites offering tutorials and get a copy of the TC CCG to guide you through the required tags and requirements.

Search the forum and you will find lots of threads which will point you to these resources.

If you get stuck on something specific post in the content creators forum for the quickest responses.

Have Fun,

Bricey

Hi Bricey,

Thanks for the sound advice. I have just downloaded Gmax and will check out the tutorials that are available.

Thanks again, Andy
