Well ... The invention of fire was at one time a pretty handy high tech idea, then came the rock wheel. And paraffin candles on a Christmas twee was a kinda' risky business, the gas lamp was replaced by the electric vaccuumm light bulb. The the Pony Express, and Morse Code telegraph, and the carbon cylinder Dictaphone are all ancient history, as are most trolley cars, steam locomotives, and most long distance passenger trains. Mimeograph copy machines are all in the dump, and transistor radios are non-existent, and ribbon typewriters are ancient history, as are IBM ball type typewriters. The B&W cathode ray tube TV's are gone, and Graphite / LP vinyl 45 rpm & 78 rpm records are almost extinct, reel to reel tape recorders are pretty much gone, 8 Track players are a thing of the past, cassette tapes are pretty much out dated, Atari Game Systems - Pong & Missile Command are collectors items, Kodak & Polaroid Instant Peel Photos are outdated. Model trains are becoming a thing of the past, photographic print shops are being put outa' business by PC's, the paper sack at the grocery store has been replaced by plastic bags, and soda and foods are rarely packaged in glass bottles anymore. You hardly ever see an Edsel, VW Thing, a Corvair, or a Pinto, or a Vega on the road today. XP became Vista, then Windows 7, now we have the wonderful Windows 8, and my bad back was supposedly caused by a Floppy Disc, my bachelor pad has been replaced by an IPad, I used to refer to a Hard Drive when we did a non-stop road trip from NYC to Florida, and booting up was when we had a 27" blizzard ... Now we have TS09, TS10, and now TS12 ... We're all up to date now.

One of the biggest changes you will encounter is that you now have to pay to access the Download Station with your versions. This is because you haven't got TS2009 or later registered - TS2009 is the earliest supported version nowadays.

That's good. You'll be OK for at least a couple of years...

Shane

P.S. If you run into any technical issues in Trainz, have a look in the thread in my signature.

Bruce! How are you old mate?

Good to see you back here! What have you been up to?

Best regards

Greg Lane

Good Lord! Mr. Lane!
How nice it is to see your name once again in the forum, Greg. :D

What have I been up too?
Oh, jeez.....in a nutshell since 2001 and my visit to Auran and now:-
Rentrenchment end 2001.
Building facilities operations 2002 - 2006
OH&S and QA management 2006 - 2012
Retirement Sept. 2012
Relaxing & enjoying life Sept. 2012 - ????

Still in Canberra and now getting back into the many and various hobbies that I only ever had a few hours per week for when working, Greg.

Great to "speak" with you again and if my son stays in Brisbane (he's a CGI animator, currently on a contract with some business in Fortitude Valley) and I go up to visit, I'll be sure to let you know beforehand.
Would love to have the opportunity to catch up after 12 years. :)

Best regards,
Bruce

Trainz is a addiction (one of the good ones) that you can't seem to shake off even after years.
