You definitely need to break up the house patterns, it looks like an army post. You're mixing the colors, that's a good start, but if you take my neighborhood for example, although the hole are was developed at the same time and the houses all started out looking the same, most don't look the same. Some people have added floors, or garages or whatever to their homes, some have been torn or burned down and rebuilt in a different style. Also, break away from the straight grid pattern, create some smaller streets and cul de sacs, a vacant lot here and there, anything to break things up a bit.

So create some open spaces? When you say smaller streets, that means make more blocks and put the houses closer together?

I'm confused. Is this to be done on Content Manager or the DLS Site?

I'm trying to give constructive comments ... but it looks so repetitive ... the same houses, over and over again.

Dave Snow has many fantastic Storefronts and Older Storefronts, and DMDrake has hundreds of town buildings that are great looking, as do many other fine creators, such as GFisher ... etc ...

JRFolco did a route Cumberland to Connellsville, and his city streets looked as if you could walk right down them, and railfan your Trainz running ... In fact I laid BNSF Invisatrack on the sidewalks and drove a pedestrian around the town, viewing the town and tracks from a pedestrians point of view.

I didn't see any town houses from GFisher. I downloaded the townhouse splines made by DmDrake but Hert claims they kill the variety needed to make the route more realistic.

These are 'search templates' for the DLS.

Is this what you two had in mind?

What neighborhood is yours?

You wont find any of these buildings under skyscraper. But they are dmdrakes. 2d and the city name there associated with are the best for making cities. It took 30 minutes or less to compile this screenshot for a route iam currently working on:

Those look somewhat modern though but I'll give them a try. I wish finding these assets weren't so hard to the point it's like pulling teeth.

I see maybe 3 buildings that aren't suitable for a 50s environment. It's not hard to find assets.

In game they are if you don't remember the name of the assets and you have at least 4GB of DLS content on you're system. 292,197 assets in total. Finding them in CMP is easy, in-game, not so much.

Write down names of objects on paper and search in game?
