I won't bother to use crossings without booms as I decided against it and removed the crossings. If may, then I'd like to ask how will they encourage drivers to run around the gates? I can see that happening in real life but with the ATLS Traffic Stopper supposed to eliminate that? Also the intersection doesn't allow turn traffic although it would be nice having that luxury.

I know that ingame traffic wouldnt go around the gates. But if you ask questions about how it would look in real life, then you can see why they dont really need to be there. It helps the realism when you are route building, to try and picture how it would look like in real life. Of course every now and again you might disregard some of those factors, to add fun to the layout.

This thread should surely be in the Surveyor's thread. While it contains screenshots,...

Sorry, I lost the will to live there.

Just for the record, it wasn't the Germans, it was the Nazi's. Totally different group of people. You may say "but Nazi's were German" and yes that is the case in most part but they were only an honest, hard-working group who would have been killed if they hadn't done what one person told them to do. German's are lovely people and have a beautiful society, along with marvelous architecture and some stunning light rail systems

Sorry, just had to correct you there.

As for the building, you're definitely progressing and it's looking good :)

You spelled not wrong. And you ought to know what that means. I won't talk about it since it'll violate the COC but you can figure it out on your own.

Well first off it looks like your using splines, hence why they dont have much variation. Ok here is a pic for you to dwell on.

As you can see from the pic, the tracks lay in between the city in the background and the suburbs in the foregrounds. As you can see layering the buildings in the background smaller up front and taller in the back closely packed together make it look like a decent size city. As for the suburbs, the roads stem from a few leading paths into the city. There are about 8 different house variations that make up the suburb. You can see that placement makes it look unified but different. Route building takes time and patients, you should try to use the search filter to get more buildings if you cant find any. Many times I use google translate to find assets that are not in English. Your routes have improved from a year ago, true, but you still have lots to learn about making good routes.

hert:wave:

May I ask where'd you find those buildings? Built-in, DLS, or third party assets?

These are the only halfway decent Skyscraper/Downtown Buildings I have. Most with the exception of ten of them are on the Download Station but don't have any lighting whatsoever. The ten are built-in with lighting and good quality. Anyone willing to recommend some more buildings for me and lend a helping hand? It would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps you could try typing 'house' or 'skyscraper' in your DLS search? I find this quite often works when looking for items to use on a route.

If I hadn't done that, then I wouldn't be asking. I already have downloaded all the skyscrapers and tall buildings there to download.
