If you used to post and now don't, why is that?

I go through fits and phases myself with posting and lurking. I lurk when I'm too tired or busy to post, but want to keep up on what's going on. Right now I've just started classes again so I'll less visible until my vacation again.

I understand the frustration of answering the same questions over and over. I blame that not just on how the forums are setup. This sadly has a lot to do with the software. I've moderated the same type of forum on another website, we used the same software (older version), and the search function was just as bad if not worse.

As one that worked in tech support for number of years, you get used to answering the same questions. It becomes habitual like eating.

Regarding the literate adults group. I'm all for it. Will membership require the citation of the complete book of Troy by Homer first to prove literacy?

It's called Lurking. I don't post unless it's vitally important or I'm in a sarcastic mood.

Another reason is this: I'm not a fan of the censorship on here, never have been. I had a great laugh at that locked thread in the Community subsection...

Additional: I also don't like all these youngsters who think they know EVERYTHING about ANYTHING...it REALLY gets on my nerves...

This isn't an argumentative thread.
Auran closing threads when people who disagree keep disagreeing is probably one of the reasons some people stop posting.
Over-moderation squeezes the life out of any forum.
We're not allowed to have an off-topic forum, we can't endlessly debate and disagree, etc.

Anyway, I stop posting for months at a time because of one or the other or more of the following:

• Other interests
• Life getting in the way
• Forum getting boring
• Sunshine!!!!

I couldn't imagine staying here 100%
That would be sad.

I really enjoyed my latest long break from Trainz (about my 5th in 8 years) and I'm enjoying Trainz now more than ever.
I'm sure I'll enjoy my next long break too.

I tend to drift in and out of Trainz, and pause for a while once I'm "burned out." I have Open Uni studies from now until October so it'll be no Trainz for me for a while.

Depending on the project, I also tend to post more over at UK Trainz (as Northern Warrior) because generally over there you don't have to wade through some of the, ahem, gramatically less than well structured "gimme gimme" style posts from over enthusiastic children. (Maybe we need a literate adults only section... ).

This is an influence for me too, it can be difficult to decipher what some posters are saying (and to resist the temptation to call them on it) - and I mean specifically the English-speaking ones. The demanding and impolite attitudes sometimes displayed here influence me too.

Lighten up everyone, Trainz is only a game .

I haven't been posting much other than reaction to frustrations I am afraid. I used to be a more sympathetic and positive participant including entering pictures in the screen shot contests but I find myself getting tired of certain things on here and stopped caring what people think and complain.

I have directed most of my anger at Auran and how they even make the mods look bad. I just find that quality in everything now a days, seems to be at an all time low and I think part of it is due to not enough people complaining so therefore, I am doing my part to try to help reverse this growing trend.

Believe me, I would rather not have to complain at all but I like this game and it frustrates me to see it get sabotaged by some fools in an office with no pride in their work or the business smarts to maintain a business, get away with it with out at least a tongue lashing.
