IDE & SATA Hard Drives on 1 computer?

I installed the second hard drive that had XPSP2 on it.It was recognized in Disk Management as NTFS and Healthy. But no matter what I did,I could not get it to boot as an individual system.So in the end I chucked a Frankie and I spat the dummy and formatted the darned thing.
Now I am debating whether to install XPSP2 on it or just use it as another NTFS partition. And installing Trainz on that.
What would be your views on it guys? And be polite

If you aren't having any problems with your current XP install, then I'd suggest giving Trainz it's own partition to run on.

Absolutely right. This should increase performance by a whole load, even if it is an IDE drive...

Thanks for everything.I will split the 80gig into 2 separate NTFS partitions and install Trainz04 & 06 on 1. and some other gear on the other.
