I was bored so I decided to repaint Gino1957's hercules C-130 in a Coast Guard paint scheme since I used to be in the Coast Guard. I'm waiting a message back from him to see if I can upload it to the DLS.

Looks great. I spent 10 years in the USCG. Got out as an ETC. Mostly on Loran C stations on islands with a girl behind every tree (no trees).

Ben:hehe:

Awesome work, perhaps you would consider USAF, USMC, and USN schemes..

Ben,

I got out as a ET1(SW) U.S.N. on my way to ETC, that count? :)

Of course that counts. My older son was in the USN as some kind of scope dope on the Tarawa during Dessert Storm. Here's a kicker - my wife was in the USMC (a BAM).:hehe:

I was on the U.S.S. Belknap CG-26 before, during, and after Gulf War 1.....

As for you and your spouse, I'll bet the kids didn't get away with nothing.... just like mine... :)

List of Duty stations:

USS Belknap CG26

NASJRB Willow Grove Naval Air station ---Had USAF, US Army, USMC, USN, and PA NG all stationed there. I also learned that a A-4M is proof that if given enough trust, a brick will fly.

USS Peterson DD969

Desron 2 Norfolk

Commander, Regional support group. (Besdies electronics, I played radioman too.)

Back on topic, the USAF, USN, and USMC had a snot load of the C-130's, will have to check on the US Army angle.... BTW, the C-130 is a "Kidney Killer", guaranteed to fill your bladder before the end of the flight.

Yeah I was in 10 years ago right out of high school. Wish I stayed in. I repainted this from an Air Force paint scheme. There is also a Camo one on the DLS, but I may do another repaint of the regular Air force gray like the 4 Hercules I saw by my father's house at Patrick AFB in Melbourne Florida.

I wish I could find a model of an Army Blackhawk or Navy Seahawk that I could repaint to look like a USCG Jayhawk.

I thought there was a helo close to the Blackhawk on the DLS, I will have to check my downloads....

thanks! yeah, i've already got those. i think i have just about every jet/plane/aircraft on the dls. i'd really love a blackhawk and a huey.

I think I've got some old Huey models lying around; not sure how hard it would be to get them into Trainz (different model formats, etc). They'd be old Vietnam-era helicopters, not a more modern variant.

And they are still in service.... Hard to kill a good aircraft....

The UH-1xx is a tough bird to kill.

Hi Curtis,

It would be great to see some Huey's in Trainz, & maybe flying around.
Vulcan has done some remarkable work with helis.

the new ones generally still look almost the same as the vietnam era ones anyway. i forgot about vulcan's bell helicopters. i'm going to see how they are setup and possibly do a repaint for my route. i would make a few of these things that i want for my route but i don't know the first thing about content creation or 3d mapping.

I just checked and his bells are tiled so I don't know how to add graphics/lettering etc to tiled objects. That seems to be the case with a lot of items i've tried to repaint. I can change the color but thats all I know how to do.
