I think Shane needs a job with N3V. Anyone else think so?

What do you guys think?

With all the unearned help, and thankless hours, that Shane puts in here, I feel he needs a fulltime job with N3V. He could remain in the UK if he wants since this would be a remote position.

So, with Kris no longer there, there's now a position open for Shane.

Come on Tony, Zec, and all. Let's start the hiring process. :D

Only time will tell I'd say. It would be interesting if that does happen.

I am waiting to hear from Tony though regarding something else that may benefit both N3V and the community though.

Shane

Interesting concept, hiring by Forum.

Will be be able to fire people as well!:D

I must say, in all seriousness, Shane's contribution is always one of helpfulness, vast knowledge and unbelievable capacity. He always seem to be on line.

Well that my reference done!

Good point, Casper. But still job postings have been done by the forums in the past, so why not make a community recommendation. Let's face it this job is 100% customer facing and he's already proven his capabilities here.

Yup. Excellent references. :)

Thank you for your comments so far. I'm going to wait to see what N3V thinks - only thing I will need to bear in mind that I will only be able to provide support whilst I'm actually awake.

Shane

Why buy the cow when you're getting the milk for free?

Allow me to start the rumor that they are considering getting rid of Zec, and Kris was let go because Shane has been doing their jobs for them for nothing! I propose Shane stop helping for awhile, and then we'll see if they hire someone else!:hehe:

That would be interesting...

I seem to be 'obsessed' with helping others though. Even if I'm not directly posting here, enough users know of my tutorials.

Shane

P.S. There are some issues that I cannot solve at the moment, which still require N3V intervention (mainly serial number issues and certain account issues).

I've only just got here, but that Shane has always been helping out the new guys and the old pros. I'm pretty sure he never sleeps! Now that's a man I'd like working for me! When he gets things working for you and you have enough sense to thank him, you'll get a "That's OK", from him. At first I thought he was working for them!

Cheers........Rick

Would be a great opportunity for Shane! You do a lot to help us out! I think you deserve the spot! It is really nice of you to help us out when we need it without us half the time not even giving one thanks back! Now that would be perfect for the job!

shane Murphy's law says.......

This forum is not just a regular mom and pap forum and many things are solved on behalve of Auran, N3V so this is just another example of how a community carries the payload of the burden without a blink, just a smile and even say thank you to the receiving party.:hehe:
Shane I am not sure for the community this would be a win win, even for you as the working environment will change dramatically with companies laws and restrictions, so hmmm NOOOO stay here and make them accept you work this way better for you us and them.
Zec you not have to worry he will take your seat at N3V only your job lol

Have a good one and yes thanks Shane for helping the community so well.

Sorry Shane, but I don't think you would fit into the corporate culture of N3V.

You have totally failed to grasp the sacred concepts of "Soon"[SUP]TM[/SUP] , "And that's all there is to it"[SUP]TM [/SUP]and "Go find it in the Wiki"[SUP]TM[/SUP].

:hehe:

Well let's hope so. I thought of this the other day because I see you putting in all these hours here. You are also well liked and are a diligent worker. About 6 years ago I applied for the same job that Zec has now. Lance Jago and I actually talked on the phone about it, and he thought I was quite a bit over qualified for the position. Today I do strictly hardware support, and even less now since I am no longer working. (I still get calls from my coworkers, go figure).

Tech support takes a different mindset than just being a geek, and I think you are well qualified to be a real employee for this position. You have to have a lot of tolerance for different personalities, to be able to read between the lines, and take the flack that flies around sometimes, and still deliver the support with a smile. So having said this, tell Tony I said so because you have these qualities! :D

Shane, I meant you won't fit in to the N3V culture because (a) you give help when it's needed, not weeks later (b) you give full explanations instead of pretending complex things are simple and (c) you explain things in plain language instead of fobbing people off with a 'go look it up in the Wiki'.

6:08 AM here. Well, I think I've seen Shane here every hour of everyday. I'm beginning to think he's some kind of robot!

Cheers......Rick
