i-Portals in Tr2012

The problem is, S&C & Murchison both come with broken Iportals. They show up as built-in and so cant be deleted, I have tried a help desk ticket, they told me to contact the creator. I sent him a message but have not gotten a response. So it looks like we have to choose between Iportals and DLC, great!

I had suspected that S&C & Murchison could be the source of the problem, why the hell do they show up as built in? I long ago gave up on the help desk so the problem remains - Auto download is a pain I preferred the old way but I am a non tec!

Apart from re installing again with the pain of transferring all my projects over I guess that is it. Trouble is that now Tane is out TS12 will not be of much interest to the more skilled among us!

Bill I suspect one of the iPortal assets were over written in your TS12 database. Check to see if the iPortal TS12 library is intact. I had a problem when I imported the TS2010 feature pack, it killed my iPortal. Also the good news is with the release of TANE iPortaling (TS12 version) is now working.

They do not show up as broken. And how does TANE fix TS12 IPortals, I would really like to figure this out now.:udrool:

They did not show up broken in CM they just did not work. The TANE comment was just an observation.

Yes I had to reinstall TS12 and not install the TS2010 content pack, probably could have deleted the iPortal stuff and re downloaded the TS12 version.

I have just finished reinstalling Ts 2012 having given up any hope of using iPortals in 61388. I am now convinced that either S&C or Murchinson or both have rendered it impossible to use them (iPorts).
I have switched off auto downloads of purchased packages - my question is - is it possible to tell auto-download that I don't want these 2 packages down loaded in future of do I just have to be quick and vigilant when I next try to get my legal downloads including Blue comet and the Chinese container station?


I am not impressed so far with auto down loads I preferred the old way!

I am not aware of any way to do that except quick reflexes. Open a ticket maybe N3V will give you an resolution.

Hi Ken and fellow sufferers,

My new installation of Ts12 is now at 61388 and when I look at iPortal basic and iPortal library I find that they are not flagged as built in whereas in my last installation they are both flagged as built in items. When I got my downloads it must have changed then and iPorts no longer worked. So I will now try to be "quick on the trigger" like Annie and see what that does!

Trouble is it takes so long to reinstall and I find that I am spending so long on the mechanics of the game that I am not playing with it - and that is what it should be about- I think?

I don't trust Ticket as they have not helped before and are even less likely to now that T;ane is all the rage!

Update: - after a lot of work and quick finger work - I have completely downloaded all my paid content with the exception of S&C and Murchinson and all seems well....... If I ever want to use either of them again I will do so on my Ts2010 installation!

Now for the hard part - transferring my own routes over!

Moral: If you want to use iPortal's do not download S&C or Murchinson.

Just noticed that Murchinson is in violation of the iPortal copyright.

Now how to fix.
Open Explorer.
search for the iportal assets listed else where in this post above.
delete the folders.
rebuild the trains data base in content manager
re-download the iportal asset.

Worked for me.
