Back to the topic at hand, I think the hornsound might be based off a free-use sound effect, as I too have heard it in various non-Trainz places (namely a few TV shows where they decided the real deal wasn't loud enough). I guess it's sorta like the Wilhelm Scream, in a way. :wave:

Thank goodness he's banned now. That behavior was completely un-called-for. I agree with the theory about a free-use sound, though I haven't heard it anywhere else...

I have a hunch...I wonder if this recently banned person is related to "disturbinthapeace" and other incarnations of said individual...Seems related to me anyway, spelling, grammar, and language.

I love how he became more and more incoherent. Back on topic, the hornsound is what is referred to as a "canned" sound. It is a sound that has been recorded for use in many movies. Alot of times it's just ambient noise, or a laugh track, but sometimes its more noticeable.
I've heard that horn in a number of places:
In one of the mission in GTA IV where you chase some guys on a subway
near the end of the movie 'Duel' where the truck and train are honking at each other
several short movies and cartoons
I used it in one of my vids
KRS's US diesels have it set on default (shame!)
Many more places.
P.S: nothing's wrong with Sonic (I'm a fan of him myself!)

How strange, I thought the alarm bells ringing for DTP was just peculiar to me! The behavior seems to be pretty similar with the way they react both react while posting. I won't say "they are DTP", but I get the impression that this incoherent individual seems to be an associate of DTP.
(It amazes me how far one can go with their ramblings in 24 hours.)

It is not confusing to seniors , it evolved from text messaging , where speed was more important than taking the effort to properly spell !
On the Forum the importance of conveying your thoughts is priority .
One cannot accomplish this by "texting" , nor will one receive respect from us "confused seniors" ?

I meant to put it this way:
The guy needs to stop using that type of language or he'll most likely be perma-banned in a month (if he isn't already.). The guy needs to learn what language to use on a forum, stop using the language he's using right now, and stop acting like a 6-year old!!!

The person is question very well could of been DTP, but due to the fact he is 10 it is not possible. I like lewisner's theory but its rather pointless to give the game to a child that acts like that in the first place.
What ever the manner, the language (Chat Speak) he was using, the comments he was making (Calling people names, ect) , and the words he was using (Some that should never be said again) were the main cause he got banned. I will be very suprised if the moderators did not take full action on him and ban him completely.

I have never heard of the "canned" sound but the list that Truemac has made really gives me an idea of where the idea came from. Always good to learn something new!
